**Improving Surgical Outcomes With Early PT After ACDF**
**ACDF** stands for *Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion*, which is a type of neck surgery to treat problems with the spine. This study is looking at whether starting **Physical Therapy (PT)** soon after surgery helps more than waiting a few months.
The study will have 76 adults who have ACDF surgery for problems like wear and tear in the spine. They will be split into two groups: *early PT* (starting PT about two weeks after leaving the hospital) and *delayed PT* (starting PT about three months after leaving the hospital). The goal is to see if early PT helps people get better faster, have less pain, and go back to work sooner than those who start PT later.
Everyone in the study will check in with doctors at about 3, 6, and 12 months after their surgery, to see how they're doing.
- **Participation Length**: 12 months.
- **Visits Required**: Pre-surgery, 2 weeks, 3, 6, and 12 months post-surgery.
- **Eligibility**: 18-75 years old, undergoing ACDF for degenerative conditions.
It's important to talk to your doctor to see if joining this study is right for you.
