Phase N/A

This study looks at how well chaplain-delivered compassion meditation works for patients getting a stem cell transplant. A stem cell transplant is a medical treatment where healthy cells are given to replace damaged ones. Chaplains are people who support patients emotionally and spiritually, whether or not they belong to a religion. Compassion meditation helps people be more mindful and caring, which can make them feel better about themselves and others. Patients will either have sessions with a chaplain twice a week for 2 weeks or receive traditional chaplain care when needed. The study checks how patients feel after 80-100 days and again after 6 months.

  • The study is for patients who are over 18, speak English, and are about to have a stem cell transplant.
  • Patients will have short sessions with chaplains twice a week for 2 weeks.
  • After the study, patients will be checked on after about 3 months and again after 6 months.
