This study is testing a medicine called dexpramipexole to see if it helps people with severe eosinophilic asthma. Eosinophilic asthma is a type of asthma where the body has too many of a certain kind of white blood cell called eosinophils, which can make breathing difficult. The study will see if dexpramipexole, taken as a pill, can help control asthma better when other medicines aren't enough.

Participants need to have been diagnosed with asthma for at least a year and will be on other asthma medications during the study. This study lasts about a year, with a 52-week treatment period and a 4-week follow-up. A total of 1400 people from different places will join, and some will take dexpramipexole while others will take a placebo (a pill with no medicine) to compare results.
