**Cortical Electrophysiology of Response Inhibition in Parkinson's Disease Study** This study explores how Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) affects the ability of Parkinson's Disease (PD) patients to control their actions. Parkinson's Disease is a brain disorder that affects movement, often causing tremors. Some PD patients undergo a procedure called DBS, where electrodes are implanted in the brain to help control symptoms. The study checks if the location and size of the electrical field from DBS affect parts of the brain involved in decision-making, especially the ability to stop actions. This is important because PD patients sometimes struggle to stop actions, like stopping when crossing a street. **Key Points:** - The study lasts up to 18 months for PD patients, while healthy controls attend two visits. - Participation does not change PD patients' usual treatment. - PD patients are tested under different conditions, such as with or without medication and varying DBS settings. The study involves both PD patients and healthy controls. It aims to improve DBS techniques to help PD patients gain better control over their actions while minimizing side effects.
