Phase N/A

Caregiving While Black is a study designed to help Black American caregivers who take care of family or friends with dementia, which is an illness that affects the brain. The study tests an online course called "Caregiving While Black" (CWB) to see if it helps caregivers feel more confident and improve their skills. Caregivers must be 18 years or older, self-identify as Black American, and provide hands-on care multiple times a week.

Caregivers will be split into two groups: one group will start the course right away, and the other will wait 3 months. Both groups will have surveys and interviews over 6 months to see how the course helps them. The study aims to make the course more interactive and helpful.

  • Participants need internet access and a device to take the online course.
  • Caregivers will be involved for a total of 6 months.
  • Participants should not have plans to move the person they care for to a nursing home in the next 6 months.
