**Study Purpose:** This research aims to create and test a special program to help adult daughters make healthcare choices for their parents who have memory loss. It focuses on improving the lives of African American families.
**What Happens in the Study:** There are two parts. In the first part, daughters and their parents with memory loss will answer questions through surveys and interviews. These questions involve things like age, culture, family roles, and healthcare experiences. In the second part, participants will help design a helpful program using their experiences and ideas.
**Who Can Join:** African American parents aged 50 or older with mild to moderate memory loss and their adult daughters (or daughters-in-law) can join. Daughters must be 18 or older and help with daily activities and care choices.
**Key Points to Consider:**
- **Time Commitment:** Surveys take about 1 hour, and interviews last 1 hour. Some sessions in phase 2 last 1.5 hours.
- **Location:** Mostly online, with interviews done remotely.
- **Privacy:** Your information is kept private and not linked to your identity.
This study helps develop better support for families dealing with Alzheimer's and other memory-related conditions.
