This study tests if sensory stimulation (using light and sound) can slow down Alzheimer's disease (AD) progression. Alzheimer's is a brain disorder affecting memory and thinking. The study involves 530 people with mild to moderate AD. Half will use an Active Sensory Stimulation System, and the other half will use a Sham (fake) system. Each group uses their system daily for 12 months. Safety and effectiveness are checked every 3 months with tests like the Alzheimer's Disease Cooperative Study-Activities of Daily Living (ADCS-ADL) and Mini-Mental State Exam (MMSE). Some participants will also have a lumbar puncture to collect cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) for additional tests.
