The Pediatric Obesity Weight Evaluation Registry (POWER) Study is a project aimed at understanding obesity in kids. It collects health information from children under 18 who are overweight or obese. The data is gathered from different weight management programs in the U.S. and is stored securely without any personal details.
The study looks at medical assessments done between March 1, 2014, and April 30, 2020. Follow-up visits and group sessions' data are collected until October 31, 2020. The information is entered into a secure computer system called Medidata Rave® CDMS, managed by the Data Coordinating Center (DCC) at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
The DCC combines and checks the data for quality. They make sure the data is safe and private, without any personal health information. The study aims to help understand and improve treatment for pediatric obesity.
