Phase 3

This study aims to see if a medicine called survodutide can help people who are overweight and have type 2 diabetes lose weight. Type 2 diabetes is a condition where the body has trouble using sugar for energy. Participants must be 18 or older and have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 27 or more. BMI is a number that shows if your weight is healthy. Participants are split into three groups. Two groups get different doses of survodutide, and one group gets a placebo, a look-alike that doesn't have any medicine. Each participant has a 2 out of 3 chance of receiving survodutide. The study lasts about 1 year and 7 months, with participants visiting the study site 14 times and getting 6 phone calls.

  • Participants inject the study medication or placebo once a week.
  • Regular counseling is provided to help with diet and exercise.
  • Health checks and weight measurements are done to track progress.
