This study tests a new medicine called NMRA-335140 for people with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). MDD is a condition where people feel very sad and lose interest in things they normally enjoy. Participants in this study will either receive NMRA-335140 or a placebo (a pill with no medicine) for 6 weeks. Neither the participants nor the researchers will know who gets the actual medicine or the placebo. This is called a "double-blind" study. After the 6 weeks, some participants may join an extra study period if they want and if they qualify.
- The study lasts for 6 weeks with a screening period up to 28 days before starting.
- You may be eligible if you have had MDD symptoms for more than 4 weeks but less than 12 months.
- Participants should not be actively suicidal or have certain mental health issues like bipolar disorder or schizophrenia.
