Phase N/A

This study looks at how video game exercises help after open heart surgery. The heart surgery is called "open heart surgery" because doctors open the chest to fix heart problems. After surgery, patients often do a special exercise program called "cardiac rehabilitation" to get better. This study tests if adding video game exercises to this program helps improve breathing and fitness.

Participants will be divided into two groups: one doing only the regular rehabilitation exercises, and the other doing rehabilitation plus video game exercises. These exercises will happen twice a day while in the hospital and three times a week after leaving the hospital. The video games used include "Breathing Labs Breathing Games" during the hospital stay and Xbox games after going home. The study lasts 12 weeks, with checks before surgery and at the end of the 12 weeks.

  • The study is 12 weeks long and involves exercises twice daily in the hospital.
  • Participants will play video games to help with recovery after heart surgery.
  • Participants need to be under 65 years old and willing to join the study.
