Study Purpose: This study looks at how much blood women lose during and after childbirth, especially when they have either twins (called gemini) or a very large baby (called macrosomia). It also examines anemia, which is when blood lacks enough healthy red blood cells, in pregnant women.

Key Terms: Anemia happens if hemoglobin (Hb), a protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen, is less than 11 g/dL. Hemorrhage means heavy bleeding. Uterine dilation happens when the uterus stretches, which can occur with twins or large babies.

  • Study involves reviewing past patient records, not new treatments or interventions.
  • No visits or treatments are required; it's a review of existing information.
  • Participants must be pregnant but not have a blood clotting disorder.

This study aims to better understand how anemia and blood loss during childbirth affect mothers and babies, especially in cases of twins or large babies. It focuses on improving anemia management before childbirth and understanding the need for blood transfusions.
