This study examines how Intensive Neurowave Emotional Stimulation (INES) affects brain and movement functions in patients with severe brain injuries. Vegetative State (VS) and Minimally Conscious State (MCS) describe conditions where patients have limited awareness. The study will include at least 20 patients, ages 18-65, over 18 months at the Neurorehabilitation Unit of Piedmont Hospital in Messina. The experimental group will receive special multisensory stimulation using INES for 4 weeks, while the control group will get traditional stimulation. Both groups will be evaluated on their brain and motor functions. The goal is to see if Neurowave can improve recovery in these patients.
- The study lasts 18 months, and participants are observed for one month after treatment.
- Participants must be 18-65 years old, with a certain level of consciousness and legal guardian consent.
- No medications are used; instead, special brain wave stimulation is applied.
