The VASCULAID-RETRO study is about using artificial intelligence (AI) to help doctors predict and understand certain heart and blood vessel diseases. AI is like a smart computer that can look at lots of information and make predictions. The study focuses on two diseases: abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) and peripheral arterial disease (PAD). AAA is when a part of a big blood vessel in the belly gets too big. PAD is when blood vessels in the legs get too narrow.

Doctors want to use AI to figure out which patients might have serious heart problems or whose conditions might get worse. To do this, they will look at information from many patients in Europe, using pictures like MRIs and CT scans, and other health data.

  • Duration: The study uses past patient data, so no new visits needed.
  • Participants: Men and women aged 40-90 with specific types of AAA or any PAD.
  • Exclusions: People with certain types of aneurysms are not included.
