This study looks at how special heart scans and giving fluids right after spinal anesthesia can help avoid a drop in blood pressure in older patients with heart disease. Spinal anesthesia means numbing part of your body for surgery. Hypotension is a medical term that means low blood pressure. The study uses Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) and Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE) to check heart health and predict blood pressure changes.

Patients aged 70 or older with a specific kind of hip fracture are included. They must have certain heart health measurements to join. The study involves checking heart function before surgery using TTE and monitoring blood pressure closely during surgery. If blood pressure drops too much, it's considered hypotensive, and doctors will act to fix it.
