Study Overview: This research aims to find out if certain proteins in urine can predict how well obese people with high blood pressure respond to two medicines: irbesartan and eplerenone. High blood pressure, or hypertension, can lead to heart problems if not treated well. The study uses proteomic analysis, a method to study proteins in urine, to find biomarkers (special indicators) that might predict treatment success.

Study Details: Fifty adults with obesity and high blood pressure will participate. They'll be split into two groups: one taking irbesartan and the other eplerenone. Blood pressure changes will be checked before starting the medicine and after 8 weeks. Participants will provide urine samples for analysis.

  • Participants: 50 untreated obese adults with high blood pressure.
  • Procedure: Urine and blood pressure monitored before and after treatment.

Participants must meet specific criteria to join, like having a certain blood pressure range and signing consent forms. They cannot have certain conditions like type 1 diabetes or kidney disease. The study aims to improve personalized treatment for those with hypertension.
