In this study, researchers want to see if a computer system, called a *convolutional neural network* (CNN), can help doctors predict problems during a special eye surgery called *Small Incision Lenticule Extraction* (SMILE). This surgery helps fix vision problems caused by refractive errors, which is when your eye can't focus light correctly. Sometimes, things can go wrong during surgery, like an *opaque bubble layer* (OBL) forming or other issues. Experienced doctors can often predict these problems, but it takes a long time to learn how. The study will test if CNN, which is a type of artificial intelligence that learns from lots of pictures, can predict these problems as well as human doctors.

  • The study is multi-center, meaning it involves several different places.
  • Participants must be at least 18 years old and have certain vision conditions.
  • Participants should not have had any previous eye surgeries.
