Phase 1

Patellar fractures are when the kneecap breaks. This is a tough injury because it can make it hard to move your knee and can cause pain. The main goal of fixing this fracture is to make sure the knee works well again without pain. Patellar fracture treatment often uses wires or screws, but there's a new method using a special kind of mesh plate. These plates, originally used for face and skull injuries, are made of titanium and help keep the broken bone parts stable as you heal.

The study explores the use of MatrixNEURO Contourable Mesh plates for these fractures. These plates provide a strong and stable way to hold the broken kneecap together, even when the fracture is very complex. This method could improve healing and knee movement.

  • The study is for people over 16 with simple kneecap fractures.
  • It's not for those with open fractures, other knee deformities, or other leg injuries.
  • Participants may experience improved stability and knee function.

Why should I take part in a clinical trial?

Participating in a clinical trial provides early access to potentially effective treatments and directly contributes to the healthcare advancements that benefit us all.

How long does a clinical trial take place?

The duration of clinical trials varies. Some trials last weeks, some years, depending on the phase and intention of the trial.

Do I get compensated for taking part in clinical trials?

Compensation varies per trial. Some offer payment or reimbursement for time and travel, while others may not.

How safe are clinical trials?
