Depression is a serious health issue, especially in teenagers. It can lead to feeling very sad and can even cause thoughts of suicide. In the Netherlands, some teens go to special schools, and they are more likely to feel depressed. This study is trying to help by offering a prevention program called Op Volle Kracht, which is based on a type of therapy called CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). The study is like a test to see if this program works. Teens will be checked for signs of sadness and if they have serious problems, they’ll get more help. If they join, they might be in a group that gets the program at school or just gets monitored. Teachers will also learn how to help kids who feel very sad or think about hurting themselves.
- Study lasts for the school year with regular check-ins.
- If program works, all students will get the training.
- Risks are considered very low; it’s mainly about checking feelings.
