Randomized Study of Carbon Ion Boost in Hypoxic Lesions for Locally Advanced Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

This study aims to see if a special type of radiation, called *carbon ion radiotherapy*, helps treat *locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer* better than the usual treatment. *Hypoxic lesions* are areas in tumors with less oxygen, detected using a special scan called 18F-Misonidazole PET/CT. Two groups will be compared: one receiving the standard carbon ion therapy, and another getting a stronger dose for these low-oxygen spots.

Participants must be 18-80 years old, have a specific lung cancer type and stage, and meet certain health standards. They cannot join if they have other uncontrolled cancers, certain heart issues, or are pregnant.

  • The study involves receiving 22 sessions of carbon ion radiotherapy.
  • Participants will be divided into two groups randomly.
  • Researchers will track survival rates and possible treatment side effects.

Joining the study requires signing a consent form and meeting all health criteria. This study could help improve lung cancer treatments by targeting specific tumor areas more effectively.
