This study tests two methods for patients with rectal cancer: **Stent-based Diverting Technique (SDT)** and **Ileostomy**. After tumor removal, patients at high risk for anastomotic leakage (AL, which is a leak between connected parts of the intestine) will try either method. The goal is to see if SDT helps patients recover better and save on hospital costs and stays.

Participants must be between 18 and 80, have rectal cancer, and be at high risk for AL. The study will track any serious issues up to 90 days after surgery. It will also look at the overall recovery process and quality of life. Conditions like high body mass index (BMI), long-term medication use, or past radiation therapy increase AL risk.
