Evaluation of Phacogoniotomy in Medically-controlled POAG

This study is for people with a type of eye disease called primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) and cataracts. The study compares two treatments: **phacoemulsification with intraocular lens implantation (PEI)** combined with **goniotomy (GT)** and PEI combined with **medical therapy (MED)**. Phacoemulsification is a method to remove cataracts using sound waves, and goniotomy is a surgery that helps fluid leave the eye to reduce pressure. The goal is to see if PEI+GT is as good as PEI+MED at lowering eye pressure for people with POAG.

Participants will be part of the study for one year. The study will look at how well each treatment works and the costs involved. The study will help understand if PEI+GT can reduce the need for medicine and be less expensive.
