Study Overview: This study explores the effect of Tongyuan acupuncture on consciousness disorders following a stroke. A stroke happens when blood flow to the brain is blocked or reduced, causing brain cells to die. This can lead to serious issues, including problems with consciousness, which means how awake and aware someone is. The study compares two groups: one receives Tongyuan acupuncture along with regular rehabilitation and medication, while the other receives fake acupuncture near the same points.
- This study involves 4 weeks of treatment and follow-up assessments after 4 weeks.
- Participants will need to attend the medical facility for acupuncture and evaluations.
- The study is conducted in Guangzhou, China, with no cost for participants.
Eligibility: Participants must be aged 18 to 85, have stable health, and have had consciousness issues from a stroke for less than 6 months. They should not have other serious health conditions or be involved in other clinical trials. This study aims to provide a new, safe, effective, and easy-to-use treatment method. Participants will be monitored using various tests to measure consciousness before and after treatment.
