Phase N/A

Anorexia Nervosa is a serious eating disorder where people eat very little, leading to weight loss and health issues. The study involves Multi-Family Therapy (MFT) where multiple families come together to support each other and learn new ways to help their child manage the illness. This program uses ideas from Family-Based Treatment (FBT) and Family Therapy for Anorexia Nervosa (FT-AN) models.

Families will take part in a 4-day intensive program where they learn about the medical and psychological aspects of eating disorders. After this, there will be follow-up sessions to ensure continued support. Both in-person and virtual options are available, using platforms like Zoom for virtual meetings.

  • The study lasts for about a year with several sessions spread across this time.
  • Families must meet eligibility criteria, like being English speaking and having a child with a diagnosed eating disorder.
  • Participation is voluntary, but it could help in understanding and managing the illness better.

Families interested in joining will go through a screening process to ensure they fit the study's criteria. The aim is to improve the child's health, family support, and communication.
